For just under 90 minutes, SpongeBob SquarePants and Sandy Cheeks are back once again, and this time in a movie streaming exclusively on Netflix. If you don’t have your subscription to the streaming platform, this movie might just be the last straw before you get it, because who doesn’t love some live-action fun?

Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie is now officially streaming on Netflix, and while it isn’t the best work out there featuring these characters, the story is fun, the favorite characters are as per usual, extremely funny, and overall, despite a few lackluster moments, it just works, especially for the fans.

Wanda Skyes Delivers an Exceptionally Funny Performance as an Evil CEO

SpongeBob is undoubtedly one of the most-beloved characters out there, and Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie kind of helps us understand why, especially if you haven’t been a longtime fan of this entire franchise which has grown immensely over two decades now.

In this latest movie, while there’s plenty of SpongeBob, the star is Sandy Cheeks, and the underwater creatures travel away from their comfort zone and all the way to Texas to Sandy Cheeks’s original home.

There are plenty of different elements that come together to make Saving Biking Bottom an entertaining movie, which is the aim when it comes to this live-action comedy.

One must remember, that no matter how good or bad the premise is, it is ultimately that comedy that saves a movie like this. But, in this case, a little bit of everything worked, especially the evil CEO, played by none other than Wanda Skyes.

Her introduction in the movie is a little silly, but also funny, and it is enough to create a lasting impression, yes, we cannot forget the kiss she gives her scaly pet, absolutely terrifying!

The ongoing narrative in Saving Bikini Bottom is secondary, but we don’t mean to take away from the hard work of the writers and directors who have molded the plot to make it intriguing.

Albeit, the fact remains that when one tunes into this movie, they simply want to have a good time, and revisit their childhood summer vacations that they spent binging SpongeBob, and Saving Bikini Bottom gets the job done.

While we are quick to appreciate the movie for its entertaining factor, we have to admit, certain points of Saving Bikini Bottom felt a little dragged on, and we were tempted to rush to the end, but sticking around wasn’t a bad decision overall.

If you have been a fan of this franchise and these beloved characters, chances are you have already watched the movie, but if not, we do recommend doing so in your free time!
