So far, Apple TV+‘s latest series, Women in Blue, set in 1970s Mexico has been a hit or a miss. 5 episodes of this series are now available on the streaming platform, and there have been enough highs and lows, and we aren’t just talking about the plot.
Women in Blue focuses more on the characters and the social commentary, and somewhere in between, the plot loses its charm.
However, we still have plenty of hope when it comes to this series, which brings us to the latest episode, “Ángeles.” In this article, we will share our review of Women in Blue Episode 5, along with some highlights, and how it compares to the rest of the episodes which have been released!
Do The Girls Find The Undresser?
At the end of the previous episode, at work, María picks up the phone only to realize that the person on the other end claims to be “The Undresser,” aka the serial killer who has tormented the women of Mexico City.
This was undoubtedly the biggest cliffhanger of Women in Blue so far, so it would make sense for Episode 5 to pick up from that very part.

The first ten minutes of the episode are some of the best minutes of this entire series, and it’s solely because of María and her conversation with The Undresser, who also mentioned Alma Alvarez, the woman who was found in Episode 4, attacked by this vicious killer but managed to survive. However, this episode confirms that she is now dead, despite efforts made by doctors to resuscitate her.
Not only is María labeled “hysterical” by her boss after she tells him about the phone call and the death of Alma, but is also facing trouble at home as her marriage rests on the brink of collapsing.
As we mentioned earlier, Women is Blue is character-driven, and if there’s one person whose story is truly gripping, it has to be María.

The scenes where María, Valentina, Gabina, and Ángeles are all present are some of our favorite scenes in Women in Blue because all of their talents put together really highlight why these women are needed in the police force, now more than ever. Given the title of the episode, Ángeles is paid special attention to, and she also happens to be the smartest of the bunch.
María also learns that her husband has spent two nights in a row with one of her clients, and she realizes that her suspicions were actually true. A lot is going on in this particular episode, and we have to admit, we expected to learn more about Ángeles, but that wasn’t the case.
Nevertheless, Women in Blue Episode 5 is a strong addition to the series, with the case moving forward, as well as the stories of the leading ladies.

Conclusion
Women in Blue Episode 5 ends with an unexpected explosion and it is clear that The Undresser will not back down anytime soon. Make sure you checkout our review of the next episode, next week!
