After several highs and lows, paired with a relatively slow narrative that moved at the speed of light in the final few episodes, the season finale of Women in Blue is officially here, and available to stream on Apple TV+. In the previous episode of the series, viewers witnessed the death of Benito, aka The Undresser, which came as a shocker!

With the monstrous perpetrator finally brought to justice, the question remains – What drives the story forward now? Well, Valentina’s disappearance is a crucial thread that remains as the characters find themselves in a race against time. In this review, we will dive into Episode 10, as we find out what’s in store for Valentina.

Is Valentina Alive?

Titles have played an important part in Women in Blue as a whole, with each named after different women, and the season finale, aka Episode 10, stays true to its title, “Valentina.”

The episode opens with a rather disturbing scene where we see Valentina, in her underwear, tied up with rope, and stuck in a place where it would be nearly impossible to find her.

Meanwhile, back at the police station, the press has swarmed outside, waiting for answers as The Undresser’s death is confirmed. This might put some people at ease, but the fact that one victim is still out there, and alive, truly sets panic in city-wide. But, everyone has been hard at work trying to bring Valentina back home alive and safe.

After a long time of doubting the newly appointed female police force, it is finally time they get the appreciation they deserve. It was their investigation that led the police to The Undresser, and ultimately, it is the women who will continue the narrative forward with their brilliant minds and cement their position in a male-dominated field.

Everyone is out there looking for Valentina, the entire police station, men and women both, have come together for the first time. Meanwhile, Maria also has to deal with her parents, and this holds up a mirror to the notion that even during the toughest times, women have to balance different parts of their lives all at once, and they do it with grace.

This wouldn’t be the first time Women in Blue has surprised us with the series of events, because within the first 20 minutes of the season finale, Valentina is found, and she is alive, thanks to Gabina and her knowledge of CPR. But this leaves us wondering what’s in store for more than half the episode with most loose ends tied up already.

One must remember, that as much as Women in Blue was about The Undresser, the bigger picture focused on how the first female police force was treated. This treatment only gets worse as the episode progresses, and instead of being rewarded, Valentine, Angeles, Maria, and Gabina are asked to sign a document claiming they had nothing to do with the investigation or the capture of The Undresser. It was either that or prison.

Ultimately, the women don’t win the battle, but each of them wins a personal fight, which leaves us wondering if there’s more in store for these brilliant characters who have had a tumultuous journey from the beginning.

Conclusion

Women in Blue stood true to its name from the first episode, until the very end, with several applause-worthy moments that made us question the treatment of women in a place where only men are rewarded.

We truly believe their story is incomplete, so make sure you check out the website for any details about another season!
