Whenever Taika Waititi is involved in a project, be it Thor: Love and Thunder or What We Do in the Shadows, one can expect to be entertained, if nothing else. Plenty of credit goes to this New Zealand filmmaker and actor who often brings a part of his personality to everything he is a part of, and that includes Apple TV+’s latest series, Time Bandits.

Time Bandits, unlike other series on the streaming platform, has been releasing two episodes every week, giving the fans plenty to watch and even more to look forward to.

However, with eight episodes now available to stream, the series will come to an end next week. Until then, here’s our review of episodes 7 and 8, and some of the highlights!

Saffron and Kevin Reunite!

In Time Bandits Episode 6, Kevin was left behind while the other bandits made their way through the time portal, and even though this young boy is smarter than all of them combined, we were all worried about him.

However, lucky for Kevin, that wasn’t the case because the opening scene of Episode 7 revealed that along with the other bandits, Kevin also made it through the portal as they all landed in the Ice Age!

It is at this point, when the bandits are freezing cold, that Penelope checks with Kevin if he really wants to save his parents, and of course, his answer is yes. But it is often the deadpan humor in Time Bandits that makes it so funny, especially if that kind of comedy is your cup of tea, and Taika Waititi always excels in it.

While most episodes have one big adventure, this one has an interesting twist. We were aware that Kevin’s sister, Saffron was also traveling through the portal, and they would eventually cross paths, and it has happened in Episode 7 of Time Bandits, and she is riding a mammoth!

Kevin is shocked to see his sister, while the other bandits assume the Neanderthals are Kevin’s parents.

This episode of Time Bandits primarily focuses on the reunion between Saffron and Kevin, which is bittersweet and hilarious all at the same time. Turns out, Saffron has been living in the Ice Age for 32 months, and thanks to her, the Neanderthals now know British slang.

Kevin also lets his sister know what has happened to their parents, and at this point, there is no giving up, and the bandits must do whatever it takes to turn them back into humans.

Time Bandits Episode 8 focuses more on the actual mission at hand – saving Kevin’s parents. This set of episodes has a shorter run time, but despite that, they have been more focused on the plot, which works in favor of the series. Turns out, they didn’t need 45 minutes every single time, but it was always appreciated.

Episode 8 is certainly intense as Saffron and Kevin are on a clock and are trying to find their parents back in 1996 Bingley. Eventually, after some contemplation, the bandits also decide to go after them in hopes of saving the kids.

Fianna, the demon, is also a big part of this episode, and she is after the sibling duo, ready to turn them into coal as well, by the looks of it.

Luckily, the bandits are in time to save them, but their parents have been captured by Pure Evil, and now the gang is finally reaching its last leg of saving Kevin’s parents before they potentially part ways forever.

Conclusion

The last two episodes of Time Bandits will be ones to lookout for, so make sure you check our website for a detailed review of the same because you won’t want to miss out on it!
