Suzie’s life has become a lot more convoluted than she, or the viewers, would have expected it to be, and she has her husband to thank for that.
At first glance, Sunny on Apple TV+ appears to be a series about Suzie and her new robot, Sunny, but as we have progressed and reached episode 6, it has come to light that this series is about secrets.
In Sunny episode 6 the narrative continues to move forward after Mixxy, Suzie and Sunny leave Kyoto in the previous episode and find shelter elsewhere, but it doesn’t take long for what appears to be Yakuza to find them.
This latest episode is yet another intriguing addition to the series, and here’s our review of it!
Does Suzie Find Sunny?
Sunny Episode 6 starts on a rather fascinating note when we see Suzie’s mother-in-law, Noriko Sakamoto, browsing in a convenience store before she picks something up and leaves without paying.
However, she comes back, lets the cashier know that she should keep an eye out for people like her, and then goes on to grab more items and leave the store, without paying.

As a series, Sunny has had some odd openers, some with flashbacks, some with new characters, but this one really stood out to us, and before we could see more, the opening credits rolled!
After the opening credits, the episode picks up from where the series previously left off, when Suzie wakes up to Sunny missing with a threatening note on her bedside.
Although the note advised them to not go to the police, that is exactly what Suzie and Mixxy do, but of course, matters appear to be a little questionable with Mixxy.
Nevertheless, in this part, in some ways, Sunny stays true to the comedy sub-genre which hasn’t appeared too often, but one can count on the series to occasionally bring it back. But, Suzie’s not-so-beloved homebot is missing and the detectives don’t seem to be a lot of help.

Sunny missing is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the avalanche of problems that are headed Suzie’s way, especially when she receives more threats, and also has an argument with Mixxy, all at the same time.
Oh, and let’s not forget that she’s also kidnapped by the Yakuza. This turn of events will get your heart racing and reassure you that this Apple TV+ series has a lot more to offer than high-tech and beautiful scenery in Japan.
Suzie finally has a conversation with Hime, an important part of Yakuza, and amid that conversation, Hime receives the news that her father passed away. Despite that, all she wants is for Suzie to help unlock Masa’s laptop, and after several tries and attempts to trick them, they finally get access, and as it appears, that’s all they need Suzie for…at least for now.

Meanwhile, Noriko ends up in prison and instead of being bailed out, all she wants is her Shogi board to play with her new friends.
Suzie was just as confused as the viewers, but it links perfectly to the opening scene of Sunny Episode 6, and that also proves just how thought-out the narrative is.
Conclusion
The episode ends with Mixxy bringing Sunny home, who immediately collapses and shuts down. In totality, episode 6 felt empty without Sunny, and we can’t help but wonder if we will have to go the rest of the series without her too!
So, keep a lookout for our review of the next episode, which should have some more answers.
