After a highly anticipated wait, Severance Season 2 has finally arrived on Apple TV+, surpassing the hype of its predecessor. Adam Scott reprises his role as Mark in this thought-provoking series created by Dan Erickson and directed by Ben Stiller and Aoife McArdle, which pushes the boundaries of work-life separation to unprecedented heights.
As fans dive back into the mysterious world of Lumon, they can expect more twists, turns, and suspenseful storytelling that will keep them on the edge of their seats. Unlike most series on the streaming platform that treats fans with a 2-episode premiere, Severance Season 2 keeps fans on the edge with only one episode, and here’s our review of the same!
Does the Lumon Gang Reunite?
Severance Season 2 picks up exactly where the debut season left off, making it essential to refresh your memory before diving in. If you haven’t re-watched Season 1 recently, we highly recommend a quick recap to provide context and enhance your viewing experience as Mark Scout returns to the mysterious world of Lumon, but under different circumstances this time.
Mark runs. Mark runs through the endless white corridors of Lumon and it is a dizzying experience for the viewers but it is a fantastic scene, and we expect nothing less from the less of the episode, and Season 2 for that matter. Once that endless white corridor ends, Mark expects to see some familiar faces but instead is greeted by Mr Milchick holding blue balloons.
“Been a minute,” said Mr Milchick before he filled Mark in on the last 5 months. Yes, apparently 5 months had passed and Mark and his coworkers were now famous in the above world after the stunt they pulled towards the end of the previous season. But we aren’t entirely convinced, and that’s the beauty of Severance, you never know the truth.
Plenty has changed on the severed floor in the last “five months.” Milchick now manages the floor instead of Ms. Cobel, and Mark’s former team was allegedly not fired instead their Outies refused to come back to Lumon, but the only person who desperately wanted to come back was Mark. Convenient, right? Now, Mark must attempt to, or at least pretend to adjust to the new changes.
Severance Season 2 Episode 1 is the perfect introductory chapter to this new season as we are welcomed back to Lumon. The old gang is eventually back together, again, fresh from the events of the previous season, and they can share their stories.
There’s a little bit of everything in this episode and despite the gap between the seasons, Severance manages to keep the viewers hooked throughout the runtime!
Conclusion
Despite being given the choice, none of them leave and Irving, Helly, Dylan, and Mark go back to their desks and thus begin a new chapter, one filled with intrigue. Let us know your thoughts about this episode in the comments below!
