The season finale weekend of Love Next Door is officially here. After weeks of riding the rollercoaster with Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu, we’ve almost reached the finish line, and it most certainly is a bittersweet moment. This Netflix K-drama has delivered one of the finest narratives when it comes to the friends-to-lovers trope, and we’ve loved every episode so far.
The penultimate episode, aka Love Next Door Episode 15 is now streaming on Netflix, and it is safe to say this might just be the most anticipated episode after the previous cliffhanger. There’s plenty to unpack, and we won’t keep you waiting too long, so make sure you stick around for our review and beware of any spoilers!
It’s a Yes from Everyone!
Love Next Door Episode 15 begins right where Episode 14 ended, that is, Seung-hyo and Seok-ryu’s families interrupting a moment between the two, whilst also realizing that something is going on between them.
For the most part, Seung-hyo’s mother seems thrilled until she begins yelling in French as her son tells everyone about his and Seok-ryu’s serious relationship, but we can’t say the same about Seok-ryu’s mother.

Seok-ryu and Seung-hyo are dragged away from each other, and into their own homes before the interrogation about their relationship begins. Despite both sets of parents’ negative and flustered reactions, the couple is stronger than ever as Seung-hyo sneaks into Seok-ryu’s room at night and proposes once again, receiving a proper yes this time around.
One of the highlights of Episode 15 takes place in the first half when Mo-eum takes Yeon-du’s official permission to be her mother. While this moment might not have come as a shocker, it still played out beautifully between the two, and of course, Dan-ho. The dialogues were well-written, and the editing added plenty of flavor to the scene.

Speaking of highlights, as much as we adored the one we just mentioned, we can’t deny that there are several others scattered across the episode. Their girlfriends join Dan-ho and Seung-hyo to help fix the home of an elderly woman. This new friendship group mixed with heartwarming volunteer work is truly a recipe for success.
Meanwhile, Mi-sook and Hye-sook, the mothers, find themselves locked in one place, which will finally force them to talk and sort their differences out, which also impacts their outlook on Seok-ryu and Seung-hyo’s relationship.
While being in close proximity doesn’t solve their issue, they do find themselves defending each other the next day, in an extremely physical and comical fight.

We would highly recommend sitting down with a few tissues for this episode, because when Mi-sook and Hye-sook finally take a moment to talk, it translates into one of the most emotional moments of the series so far, and we’re glad they saved it for the penultimate episode. Seung-hyo and Seok-ryu finally got the blessings they needed.
Mo-eum gets a big shocker, that she has been selected as the safety officer for the South Pole research station, throwing an unexpected curveball in her new relationship with Dan-ho.
However, this isn’t addressed right away, and we’re assuming they’re keeping some things in store for the season finale. The penultimate episode ends with Seok-ryu’s father retiring, and Seok-ryu proposing to Seung-hyo, balancing things out.

Conclusion
Love Next Door Episode 15 played out perfectly for all characters, but of course, not all loose ends have been tied just yet, and now, we wait for the season finale. Until then, do let us know in the comments what your favorite part of this episode was!
