Joe Rogan is one of the most popular podcasters who is globally known for some of his most controversial takes, and this time around, Netflix has given him a platform to perform his act, “Burn the Boats” in San Antonio, Texas.
As Rogan takes the stage, with a live stream on Netflix, one can’t help but wonder if he should stick to podcasts.
It is no secret that Rogan isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and it should come as no shocker that the same goes for his Netflix special, Joe Rogan: Burn the Boats. So, here’s our review of Rogan’s live performance, which will help you decide whether you want to stream it or skip it!
Crass Humour Takes Center Stage
Joe Rogan has been living in Texas for the last four years, so it made sense for him to perform at his home ground and that’s exactly what he begins the special with. For starters, he talks about Texas weed, and how “different” it is.
In the first ten minutes, Rogan barely earned a chuckle from us, and then, it got progressively worse as he spoke about COVID. Are people still making jokes about a pandemic that killed several people?

Anyway, Rogan certainly is, and he especially takes a dig at vaccines, to begin with, which is followed by men and their “gross” behavior during the pandemic while at work.
The podcaster quickly shifts the narrative to the “woke” people, and by this point of the comedy special, we wondered why Netflix gave Rogan this large platform only mentioning “j*zz” and “c*m” every few minutes.
Rogan also addresses heterosexual men, claiming there’s only a “few” of them left, earning a scattered laugh and hoots from the audience, which he appeared to be particularly impressed by.
He also occasionally makes trans jokes and jokes about men in dresses, and none of it fits, and none of it feels remotely funny, and this is only the first 25 minutes of a segment that is over an hour long.

Everyone knows that Rogan has some strong opinions, most of which are controversial and also offensive, but he definitely takes it up a notch in this Netflix special, and while some might just enjoy it, it isn’t for everyone.
Rogan’s popularity as a podcaster increases every day as he invites new guests to talk about matters cornering the world, politics, and more, but maybe a Netflix special wasn’t his best decision so far.
Conclusion
If you are a die-hard fan of Joe Rogan, then chances are you have already watched his Netflix special, Joe Rogan: Burn the Boats. However, if he hasn’t been on your radar, we would recommend skipping this one, and watching Hannah Berner: We Ride At Dawn instead.
