Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars has ignited with an amazing display of beauty and glitter, bringing the ballroom to life once more as the contestants competed for the prized Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, a new group of superstars thrilled viewers with various spectacular dance routines.

A high standard was set on the first night of Dancing with the Stars Season 33 when a few celebrities stunned the judges with their amazing routines and innate rhythm. The celebrities danced to songs that were particularly meaningful to them on a night of personal anthems, and the enthusiasm in the ballroom was contagious. Let’s see what else went down on the premiere night!

A Glitzy Opening of Dancing with the Stars Season 33!

A stunning group routine by the professional dancers opened the event to the energetic “I’m Alive” by Celine Dion, laying the groundwork for an exciting evening.

Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli were prepared to provide their criticism, and hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro made a successful comeback to lead the event with their distinct charm.

Early on, the judges established a rhythm. Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher remarked on Carrie Ann’s especially liberal score, highlighting the judges’ apparent “niceness.”

Later in Dancing with the Stars Season 33, The Pretty Little Liars and Z-O-M-B-I-E-S actress Chandler Kinney was the night’s big star. She and her partner Brandon Armstrong stunned the crowd with a beautiful tango.

Kinney received the best score of the evening, a remarkable 23 out of 30 while dancing to Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go!” Kinney’s performance was lauded by Carrie Ann, who declared it the new standard for the season.

NBA champion Dwight Howard trailed closely behind, demonstrating astonishing quickness in his salsa moves with Daniella Karagach to the tune of “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan, despite his massive stature. He received 22 points for his effort, which guaranteed him a spot close to the top of the table.

Even while the best acts stole the event, several celebrities had trouble getting into their groove. Reginald VelJohnson, star of Family Matters, had a difficult beginning to his salsa routine to Boyz II Men’s “Motown Philly.”

Bruno gave him feedback on how he performed and urged him to move further and take more steps in his next routines. With 16 points at the end of the evening, VelJohnson was positioned close to the bottom of the scoreboard.

Later in Dancing with the Stars Season 33, Eric Roberts, another famous person who struggled to win over the judges, danced a cha-cha to Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock & Roll.”

With just 15 points for his efforts, the actor received the lowest score of the evening. Roberts had been a competitor for 19 years, thus it was obvious that he was excited about the show despite the result.

Lighter Moments and Special Mentions

The premiere night of Dancing with the Stars Season 33 wasn’t without its fun moments and surprises. Star of Beverly Hills, 90210 Tori Spelling wowed the crowd with a glittering foxtrot that brought her 17 points and a tie with Olympian Nedoroscik for the title of “most fun” of the night.

Jenn Tran of The Bachelorette, on the other hand, made an impression with a strong 19 points despite having little time to practice.
