Screamboat is on the Way!
Variety has exclusively unveiled the first look at David Howard Thornton as Steamboat Willie in Screamboat, along with additional details about the film. Thornton, known for his chilling performances in the Terrifier series, as well as Night of the Living Dead II and American Clown, proves to be an excellent fit for this gruesome role. His horror credentials make him an ideal casting choice for Screamboat.
Steven LaMorte also shared more about his vision and Thorton’s involvement in Screamboat:
“I’m so excited to share our mischievous monster mouse with the world. ‘Screamboat’ is my way of paying homage to Disney while putting a sinister, yet comedic twist on the classic.”
He added,
“Watching David Howard Thornton bring Steamboat Willie to life with the magicians at Quantum Creation FX has been nothing short of amazing — he’s hilarious and murderously entertaining. I can’t wait for audiences to meet Willie and experience the chaos we’ve created.”
Screamboat will be distributed by Iconic Events Releasing in the USA, and the production companies involved are Sleight of Hand Productions, Fuzz on the Lens Productions, and Kali Pictures.
The theatrical release in the US was originally slated for January 2025 but has now been pushed to April this year.
Other cast members joining Thorton in this slasher adventure are Tyler Posey, Kailey Hyman, Allison Pittel, Amy Schumacher, Jesse Posey, Rumi C. Jean-Louis, Jesse Kove, Jarlath Conroy, and Charles Edwin Powell.
