Based on Kouji Miura’s manga Netflix’s latest adaptation, Blue Box, is now officially streaming on Netflix. Unlike other manga’s that have been turned into series, this particular one will be releasing episodes weekly, so fans will have to wait a while before they binge the series. Alternatively, they can consume the weekly episodes as they were intended!
Moving our focus back to Blue Box and its story that perfectly depicts young love, this manga adaptation has done a brilliant job, even though we’ve only watched Episode 1 so far. Nevertheless, Taiki Inomata will be your favorite character on this streaming platform for weeks to come, and we will elaborate more on that in this review!
Taiki Gets the Shock of His Life
Taiki Inomata, unlike other students his age, makes it a point to wake up early because he wants to reach school as soon as possible.
This isn’t because he needs to study more, but instead because he wants to be able to spend time with his crush, Chinatsu Kano, who practices basketball in the morning. The opening scene of Blue Box is uplifting, and we do not doubt that this tone will be maintained as the series progresses.

Taiki’s school is a sports powerhouse and his choice of sport is badminton, which is another reason he likes to come early to school, so he can practice, but of course, Chinatsu always beats him to it. While Taiki is quick to daydream about being with Chinatsu, his friend is quick to pull him back to reality, claiming he can’t even go out with her to begin with.
Our protagonist has two close friends, both completely different from each other, but Taiki is keen on taking some advice about what girls like after he realizes just how popular and out-of-his-league Chinatsu is. Nevertheless, the next morning when he interacts with her outside the school gym, it shows just how purely Blue Box intends to depict young love.

Chinatsu and Taiki have a handful of tender moments where they spend time together, and Taiki is thrilled to learn that she remembers him and his name. This manga adaptation is for all those who need a little break from their lives and dive into a world of great animation and a sweet premise, because that’s the best way to describe Blue Box, as far as the first episode goes.
Towards the end of Episode 1, Taiki learns that Chinatsu’s family will be moving abroad, but she will be staying back to continue her basketball career. However, what he doesn’t learn until the very end of the episode is that she will be staying with him and his family instead. Talk about good luck!

Conclusion
Blue Box promises to at every point of the series, the first episode is proof of that. If you have been contemplating dipping your toes into Manga adaptations, then this series might just be the perfect place to begin!
