Pachinko on Apple TV+ isn’t just a series about family, war, and a billion obstacles, but also about identity. Most characters in this series are of Korean descent as they struggle to find a place for themselves amidst a war and the aftermath. While Sunja has been the focus in most episodes of Pachinko Season 2, the season finale focused on her eldest son, Noa.

Noa Baek has been an important part of Pachinko but remains absent in the future timeline, where we see Mozasu and Sunja. The ending of Pachinko Season 2 sheds more light on his absence, and it is truly heartbreaking. In this article, we will talk more about the ending, so brace yourself for some for some spoilers!

Does Noa Find Out the Truth?

At university, Noa finds himself entangled in a romantic relationship with a Japanese student, Akiko. At first, the couple appears to be sweet with some glaring differences, but as the season finale progresses, Akiko gets more curious about Hansu, and his connection with Noa.

Noa on the other hand makes it abundantly clear that she is to never cross paths with Hansu.

Akiko doesn’t listen to Noa and crashes Hansu’s dinner with Noa one night, leaving Noa furious. Matters only get worse when Noa and Akiko get a moment alone and she claims Hansu is Noa’s father.

This unleashes a fearful streak of anger in Noa, and maybe he isn’t so different from Hansu after all. Noa also confronts Hansu about the claim made by Akiko, and Hansu refuses to lie to his son.
